Eudora Welty
In black and white memories
You are  still with us

Southern novelist
With or without camera
You captured moments

Your love for reading
was a love for writing too
Thanks for sharing it

Your camera lives
Still, between pages of time
For posterity

What a nice tribute. I haven't read any of her work yet, but I'm becoming quite interested. Thanks for sharing this!

I know who she is, but must admit I don't remember reading anything she wrote. How sad, to have a college degree in English and not be more familiar with this obviously important cultural treasure. Thanks for adding a "new" author to my winter reading list.  This is a very nice tribute.

This is so enjoyable and well done.  She wrote about the South as few have been able to.

Thanks for all your comments. She really must have been a lovely lady. Sorry to say I had never read any of her books either until her passing, when I discovered them and the beautiful photography she had taken of the south. You know there is even a computer program "Eudora" named after her, a fact I just recently learned. I know she would have been a wonderful person to have known as a friend...her works show a great love for life and beauty.
