A kind word,a loving touch,
A whispered joke, hugs and such.
A frightened child, a friend in need,
A gentle kiss, a quiet plea.

A wistful sigh, a deep regret,
A gentle hand, we don't forget.
A child's game, a story told,
Etched in stone, from days of old.

They leave footprints on our hearts,
They touch our lives, they leave their mark.

A favorite toy, a little hug,
Friendships made, with acts of love.
A silent tear in the night,
To mourn a friend who lost the fight.

A dance in rain, a silly face,
A wedding dress from grandma's lace.
A knowing glance across the room,
One that says "I love you, too".

They leave footprints on our hearts,
They touch our lives, they leave their mark.

A firm push, a warm embrace,
Room to breathe, when you need space.
A heartfelt note, a friendship poem,
A call to say, "You're not alone."

A snowy day, a friendly smile,
"Please, come in, warm up awhile."
A welcome wave, "I'm glad you're here."
A sad good-bye, "You'll still be near."

They leave footprints on our hearts,
They touch our lives, they leave their mark.

How wonderful and warm! you've said so much and your lovely poem touched me deeply!

A friend hears the song in my heart, and sings it to me when my memory fails.

This is a lovely poem and reminds us how important the "little things" are to each of us.

They sure do ... and I appreciate each and every one I get
And knowing this I get the same feeling inside when I give the same to others in return or before return

Beautifully written

bestgirl,

It is the little things that someone you love does for you that means the most. Unfortunately, I'm just learning how to recognize the little things. This poem will certainly help me in my education. LOL

Reminds me of that song that goes "these are a few of my favorite things" it the little things that we would miss the most if they were suddenly to be gone. Enjoyed this very much.

What an optimistic and thoughtful poem! This has a catchy flow and rhyme scheme to it - well done!

You've made me smile   I'll certainly take your words to heart
