Myrtle's multiple personalities bloom
In summer shades of crimson,
Coral,lavenders and whites
She lines the corridors of the south
Decks the streets of southern towns

Crape Myrtles
On parade
Southern belles
With colorful
Parasols
Decked in
The latest
Fashion
Wearing her
Colors well

Along the street
Or in the countryside
Her beauty grows
From tiny shrubs to trees
Blooming boughs
Vibrant bouquets
Against
Backgrounds of green
Crape Myrtle's a beauty queen
Her loveliness does not fade
With the dropping of her petals
For alas when Autumn winds
Begin to blow
She dawns herself once again
In colors
Of radiant royalty
When she boldly becomes
A showcase
Of red and gold

Her kind of  beauty
Never grows old

and P.S.

She's got great legs!

I've only seen pictures of crape myrtle in bloom but it must be glorious to see the real thing.

ah, how brilliantly you pen this, I can almost see their beauty...great legs and all!

A friend hears the song in my heart, and sings it to me when my memory fails.
