Like Walls of Stone I like to live where mountains rise Like walls of stone, against the skies. Where early morning hours bring Sweet paeans that the wild birds sing. Where Heaven's dome arcs over all And rainbows mark each waterfall. Where air is fresh and hours pass Like gentle shadows on the grass. Here, walking through a forest glade, I note each plant that God has made. Up where the icy storms are born And clouds upon the peaks are torn. Where lightning flashes all around And thunder makes a mighty sound. How splendid it all seems to me. A place magnificent and free. There is no sign of daily strife, So often found within each life. What a great place to live! I too like to live outside of the confining walls of the city. I enjoyed reading this. Being surrounded by those majestic walls of stone somehow gives a sense of open freedom, rather than constraining enclosure. Midnitesun |
