You Gave Me a Gift

You gave me a gift , a small token of love
A music box chiming what I’m fondest of
Soft melodies filling the air with delight
A present of love on that first moonlit night

You sent me a birthday wish, one special day
A rainbow of colors in floral bouquet
A sign that you miss me in petals of blue
And roses that quietly say, “I love you”

You placed in my hand a small box wrapped in white
A diamond that lit up the day and the night
Then in a small chapel you offered your hand
And a gift made of silver, a small wedding band

You loved me and cared for me, honored my life
We wandered together as husband and wife
You gave me the joy of devotion and truth
Wrapped in the balance of wisdom and youth

You gave me a gift, a small token of love
And asked God to bless us from heaven above
Wrapped in a package, a blanket of blue
A beautiful son who’s the image of you
