A donkey was lead by an old man
out in the old country side
And on the mule’s back,
a young boy did ride

Some people criticized and
demanded they change places
So, the boy is now walking and
smiles were on those folks faces

More people saw this and said
both man and boy should ride
So the beast bore the weight
like the naggers did chide

Animal activists claimed
that’s too much for the burro
So now, the man and the boy
are carrying the mule

As they crossed over a bridge,
the man and boy lost their grip
Their burden was relieved,
when the donkey did slip

The moral of this story,
in your memory should last
If you try to please everyone,
you’ll soon lose you’re a**

Very good poem about an old folk tale and the point is well taken.  Joyce

Joyce,
Inanothertime,
Betty,
Old tale, but fun re-writing it.
