This could have been a perfect day,
If not for being so alone.
No mail, no calling friend, no jangling of the phone.

Read a little of Walt Whitman, who akin
To every man, woman, child, thing
And God, was never so alone.

Tidying in the garden, took up an hour or so.
But where was everyone I used to know?
Still new to me, this being on my own.

July the fourth, this lovely holiday,
A time to spend at summertime and play
And sharing life together with someone.

Sorry to hear you're having a sad day today Joyce. I guess it doesn't help to know we don't celebrate July 4th uh? I'll keep my fingers crossed you'll get a surprise call or something like that to make you smile.    Take care.

Dear Joyce;  I wish you could have spent the day with me.  I took Ron to the wonderful parade and our daughter flew up from Medford to spend the day.  She has flown home now. No one should have to be alone on a holiday.
Maybe someone will visit this evening?

I can feel for you Joyce, summertime in general sometimes gives me the very poingnant feeling of being on the outside of life. Hope the day redeemed itself.

My Dear Poetess Friend,
My heart goes out to you.  I know the feeling, for I too have been separated from my wife and family, Thanksgiving, and Mother's Day, due to various circumstances, beyond my control.  It just isn't the same!
I am glad for the internet however- to reach out & be touched by my friends, and thus take the edge off of a lonely holiday.
God Bless & Cheer you, my Friend,
         David

P.S.  Thanks for the abundant encouragement you have given me as well.  I appreciate you!

Every Day's a Blessing
And Gift-Wrapped from Above,
Share it with another
And Spread the Father's Love!!!

May You come to Know His Best Blessing

Thanks to all of you.  I should be ashamed.  I am expecting a big family reunion here on Saturday, my birthday.  It is just that the 4th of July has been a sad holiday for many years for me since I lost my husband that day.  Love to all of you and I do appreciate you so much.  Joyce
