From distant drums of waves that beat so strong
I hear a voice that plays a melody
it's nightingale and radiance in song
and covers me in love so tenderly
It's sharing lost between the bittersweet
when coupled to another's hand you hold
and childhood pain is honored and complete
and warmth returns to life from bitter cold
Would thee not build a bridge for us to cross?
Through brokenness can love and spirits heal?
I've surveyed the terrain from hearts once lost
no bridges left, so please don't be afraid
for you can come to me, deny the cost
and I will answer all the prayers you've prayed
we'll find a river swept from richer land
if you will only give me, dear, your hand.

You've become addicted to sonnets, haven't you, Kathleen....hehehe.....they are addicting, aren't they? This is fabulous! I would just make one suggestion where the meter seemed a bit off:

I've surveyed the terrain from hearts once lost

I think it flows better like this:

I have surveyed terrain from hearts once lost

Again, very well done, Kathleen! Keep 'em coming! I'm loving it!!
