What’s trash to some might just my treasure be
It takes all kinds to make this world go ‘round
There’s room for all to blend in harmony
A song with just one note’s a boring sound.
A canvas splashed with many splendid hues,
Diversity adds such a zest to life;
Just think of all the beauty we would lose
If palettes but with monotones were rife.
The structure of a verse sings sweet its song
On me it has a powerful effect
Yet verses free so gently float along
They’d cause a butterfly to genuflect.

Though not the same they share a common goal
…Portraying for the world what’s in the soul.

Excellent, Denise.  It's wonderful how diversity fills each of our palettes.  Nice read...thank you.*S*

Oh, Denise, you surely are the queen of sonnets, step aside EBB... Robert would surely leave her for you!  lol..This is soo lovely...the butterflies will genuflect at the beauty your gift has winged them in! Love, Ellie

A friend hears the song in my heart, and sings it to me when my memory fails.

This was lovely. I too, like the last lines.

I, too, loved the butterflies line, but also love structure, and you are indeed a master of this form.  I agree with the message, too!  How true that our diversity is what makes this a wonderful and colorful place!

amen to that, beautifully written Denise and well stated.
