Mounting desire greets my fevered mind
as I walk down the candy aisle
each M&M, each Milky Way
gives rise to my wanton smile

Baby Ruth, Pay Day too
all beckon me to a taste
Snickers bars and Jujube’s
that settle around my waist

I pass them up for other things
like carrots and celery sticks
but hear them calling from the shelf
those Red Vines and Pixie Stix

Halloween is just around the bend
so there’s plenty of bags in the store
Candy Corn and Cracker Jacks
and Peanut Butter Cups galore

Then there will be Christmas
Candy Canes are a sweet delight
Homemade Fudge and Divinity
dance in my dreams each night

But I leave without a sweet
being good for one more day
knowing that again I’ve held
those ‘candy cravings’ at bay!

Ummmm! I'm here, now. I had to go to the candy store, first (for some reason).

It all sounds delicious to me! Most likely because I'm diabetic and can't have any of it! I have eaten my share in the past I'm sure.

Three Muskateers....they're there i hope! Oh this was great, my sweet teeth are screaming for chocolate!

A friend hears the song in my heart, and sings it to me when my memory fails.

Just came back after a prolonged absence, and found this sweet treat.  I'll take the m&m's please.    Amazing what power a little bit of sugar and chocolate has!

I must confess that every now and then I fall victim to the Chocolate cravings. This is a well done, and well expressed piece of poetry, and it reminds me to get working on my willpower again.

For those of you who have had to quit the sweets--- I feel for you. I  keep myself very low sugar. For those of you able to indulge.....well if you can't say anything nice...

Wow, this sounds good, Sharon....and so early in the morning, too. I'd like a Zero candy bar or a Three Musketeers.....or some Hershey's Kisses with almonds...or...

Man, I wish I had as much will power as you do, Sharon.
Hugs,
Ethel
