Melody of my heart, song of my life
Searching for the perfect note
To match the beat of my strife
I manage to put a smile on my face

Singning alone with the one in mind
Who's out in jail crying to find
His head against the wall
Wailing over his fall

The doors are shut close
For us to smell the rose
Growing in my back yard
In the ground so hard

It is impossible
To sit at the table
Together

In the blender
we just don't mix

How can you fix
Something that just doesn't fit
When the light is lit

But he can write songs
About how much he longs
For me to hear how good he is
Claiming my life his

I wish it could be true
It is only a brew
To get drunk on
When we can't get no satisfaction
From the juke-box
In my socks
Standing up ready to dance
My trance
Melody of my heart, song of my life
