Your man comes home baby
you don't know what to do
you can recall
when he had time for you
now you're longing
for a love you once had
and you can remember
when he was the man.

And it's so hard to give him your heart
because you know you've drifted apart.

You're out with the girls
it's a Saturday night
you drink a few
you hide from the light.
But you're unhappy
the clock's callin you home
to a lonely place
where you don't want to go.

You keep getting bold offers
you pretend to decline
but here comes a new one
the smiling happy kind.
The bar room is full
the action is quick
you can't rush home
your mind's on a trip.

He's straight up and young
he's treating you right
now you want to stay
it's an early night.
You hear him say things
that you love to hear
you heard them before
for so many years.

You're wrapped in the music
you dance and you touch
the perfect young stranger
he wants you so much.
He fills the spaces
where your lonliness reels
you're lost again wishing
he was all you could feel.

You know that it's wrong
but you want him no less
you fill his lips
with your best caress.
The night's moving on
and passion and youth
has got your heart pumping
you feel something new.

You've got vacant shelter
your own empty nest
your world is sleeping
and you're wanting no rest.
How could you guess it
you've still got a soul
truth gets displaced
you're not feeling so old.

On with tommorrow
you're on your own time
he'll still come home
and pay you no mind.
You're keeping your secrets
cause you're tired too
you unlock the back door
the long night's through.

And it's so hard to give him your heart
because you know that you've drifted apart.

Yeah it's true Serenity...the blues never leaves me......been with me forever...just like luggage...as John Lee says the blues will heal ya. I'll have to get you to do the sax solo, I'm a guitarist.

Thank you Gossamerwings I'm glad you can hear the blues wailing. This was never written as a song it just comes out of me that way.

Thanks for the comment Tony and yes, men can be pigs sometimes.

Thank you Maureen I'm glad I touched some deep feelings there, it gets them out.

Thank you Kit it's reality....all the guys out there better be taking care of their lady love....all are human..thanks again.
