A loving sparkle dances in your eyes No wonder I couldn’t see through the lies. Tell me now, if you can tell me true, Did I ever really know the complete real you? Your little winks, the charming smiles, I thought your love would go on for miles. Now I realize that I am playing the fool I let my walls down, I broke my own rule. I know I must be strong and walk away, Hold my head up high and start a new day. Even though I can feel my heart softly moan, I know I must leave and spend time alone. I take a deep breath and straighten my back, And I look at all the things that I must pack. With a sigh I leave and begin to move ahead, My mind swirling with things you have said. Although for now the pain and hurt strikes deep I’ll be alright, there is love in my heart that I will keep. |
