Here I am, lost in an abyss of thought.
Where will I go who will I be?
Where is God for me?

"Hell, I don't even believe in God."
I know.  He just expects us to do the best with our lives.
Only for the best we'll strive.

"I guess I take another hit off my smoke."
Damn I write such crap.
Maybe I'm alone cause I'm too much of a sap.

"Hold your head up you weak *******."
She taught me love and lied.
I guess she wasn't qualified.

I'm more saddened in the world than ever.
I guess this is why old people die.
Or at least explains their frowns each day.

A very interesting
prospect... I don't think
anyone will tell you they have
ever been there. But of
course then again,
there's the
poets...

Beowulf you speak well...as a legendary warrior should...I have often been lost in that abyss of thought with no answers to the same questions..."she taught me love and lied,...I guess she was'nt qualified."...that certainly opened the door to the abyss of thought......happens when all the things you give your love to are taken away.....I feel for you.....this poem says a lot.

Thank you very much for the encouraging words.

lucky- simply a prospect.  I hope the world isn't as dim as I painted it there.

Beth-   you're words were apt encouragement in and of themselves.

ethome-  Thank you.  I'm flattered that I might actually be growing into a name that once was simply a handle

Opinions are like bellybuttons: eveybody's got 'em and they're good for nothing.

At least you have your poetry, those poor old people with the frowning faces probably don't know where to find insight.  I like this.

PDV- very true.  Poetry always has that therapudic effect for me.  Heck if I didn't get out the things I just wrote about, I'd probably walk around like one of the frowning people.

MA Miller- I know what you mean.  Hey I've only written for a little while and I've already gone through many times of introspection.
