I stood by the sea and saw darkness descend
tinted by red and yellow fires as seas burnt
By the hand of the darkness the spirits fled
the young and old roused from soft beds
yet i saw as i stood looking out to the seas
the horsemen ride on the light as it flees
the fireball of envy and pride
forceing the pieces of darkness collides
i saw the church in bitter stain
become the ashes once again
its glass of brightness became as rain
as darkness returns to the world again
not the darkness from the light
but the evil that in the begining took flight
from the world of love and deaths respite

So it was i who saw their coming
The dark ones future and past
whose woeful minds were twisted in the past
the fallen angels suns of god
the denizens of the deep
As they rode to earth on black and dirt
No peace they were to keep
They rode the sven seas and every isle
they took the world, so all its hopes
became just bitter twisted dreams
I stand on the the grass of the night
The darkness with no days
And pray to a god deserting us
for a mercy that can never come
i pray for beauty and wisdom and a rule for the game

Now i stand a wasteland
seeps around my feet
in every place in reality
the light the darkness defeats
Now my tears and turning mere salt in dry lads
the darness is returning
with a grip tight over man
Our innocence is over
the pain has come again
and i still stand here screaming
at the madness thats filled ourselves
Listen in the night
To what the darkness tells
the comeing of the true darkness
From the pits of hell

Oh Danny boy, the pipes, the pipes are calling
From glen to glen, and down the mountain side
The summer's gone, and all the roses falling
'Tis

Walter....
You wouldn't perhaps be related to
         E.A. Poe, by any chance?!!
I liked this one, as I like to
explore the dark side as well as the
         light.....for without one, there
         would not be the other.

                Very nice writing!!

you have defined darkness here my friend...
like a vision of perdition...
as always your work is so powerful in its amazing imagery...
you have some very cool lines in this as well

"i saw the church in bitter stain
become the ashes once again
its glass of brightness became as rain
as darkness returns to the world again
not the darkness from the light
but the evil that in the begining took flight
from the world of love and deaths respite"

that verse kicks poetic butt

There are places inside our souls -
that have never been touched.
There are places inside our hearts -
that need to be loved this much.
