~Confessions Of  Passionate Poets~

For my sanity that I wish to keep,
I wake up early in joyous haste.
As I know that a restful sleep,
is poetry time I wish not to waste.

Up before the light of dawn,
music playing, computer on.
Bagel with jam, cup of raspberry tea,
the sun will find me reading poetry.

Eyes set forth in a yearning gaze,
addicted to my poetry filled screen.
One click is the first in a phase ...
as one brings another to visions seen.

My daily escape, my saving grace,
my quiet comfort, sweet poetic embrace.
Like oxygen, poetry is the air I breathe,
a breath of desperately needed poetic reprieve.

With my muse on an ill timed vacation,
I read and reply rather than post.
As I feel the saddened sensation,
of another poet's lost love ghost.

Inspiration lost and then again mercifully found ...
to poetry's grace my muse is bound.
When the words won't come, then I read,
new inspiration to grow from another poet's seed.

Off to work I reluctantly must go,
for I never did plant that money tree.
Anxiety and withdrawals beginning to show,
quick ... I need a fix of some sweet poetry.

The dishes aren't done, the bills aren't paid,
the laundry sits, the beds won't get made.
I don't care ... just let me be ...
I'm not missing, I'm in Passions reading poetry.

The phone rings and the doorbell chimes,
Yes? ... hello?... please make it quick.
I need to get back to my verse and rhymes,
Panic sets in each time I hear that damn clock tick.

The family is fed, the work day done ...
comes quiet time with the setting sun.
off they go to watch that mindless TV,
turn on the computer, I'm ready for more poetry.

Hours have passed and it is time to say goodnight,
hugs and kisses and a quick tuck in the bed
Sweet dreams to you as you sleep ever so tight
No, not me ... there is more poetry to be read.

I toss and turn, try as I might I just cant sleep ...
miles to go, poetry promises to keep.
That 3 am ache starts to burn ...
for the love of poetry and poets my heart yearns.

Replies that tease are the vision in this ones head,
some with a laugh or smile, some sent with a hug.
Covers thrown back as I jump out of my bed,
that symptom I caught from the poetry bug.

While all the world is sleeping ... we burn poetic oil,
'tis for our love of poetry to which our hearts remain loyal.
Poetry is a gift from God, a talent of which he entrusts us ...
we are ever grateful for its grace and pray our words do it justice.

My many heartfelt thanks to Janet Marie for all the
time, effort, and laughs we shared in putting this
together.  It has been and shall remain a wonderous
gift cherished in my heart forever.  You have inspired
me to no end and........to all the poets out there
who keep me(US) up all night; many thanks to you as
well and I ask for only favor.......DO YA KNOW OF ANY CLINICS FOR POETRY ADDICTION?LOL

Mark,
I thank you for the invitation to write and work with you,
it has indeed been a pleasure.
You are a brave poet to take on my moody muse
you inspire me as well
The true gift of poetry and this magic place is the inspiration we find in each other,
and the friendships formed.
If there is a cure for poetry addiction...I dont want it...
this is one itch I dont want to scratch lol

There are places inside our souls -
that have never been touched.
There are places inside our hearts -
that need to be loved this much.

Mark, Janet, you hit the nail right on the head with this one,LOL. I just had to respond with my own show of addiction.

I'm seated now at my pc
I have my coffee and of course my cigs
Internet Explorer take me away
Off to Passions for a blissful day
A click to my favorites
A quick scroll down
Ah there is my Passions
Finally found
And as it loads
I anticipate
Of the visions I'll see
And the journeys I'll take
Panic sets in, why is it taking so long
What???
An internal error
Oh NOOOO somethings wrong
Heart racing now
What will I do
Oh Passions, my hearts desire
I must get to you
Finally, whewwww
I'm into my home
Safe in the forums
Where I know I belong
I can relax
I can breathe
Now go away world
I'm off to read

Thanks guys for letting me know I wasn't the only one so very ill, LOL.Ahhh what a wonderful disease. BIG hugs, Juls

I wonder how you managed to peek into my house! A small hint, when I discovered my addiction, I switched to paper plates. Told my family it was to conserve water; but it was a lie (I admit it!). It was really to give me more time on the computer, reading poetry. I'm so ashamed! (LOL)

This is a great poem, Mark and Janet! Loved every line (even the ones that hurt!).

What do you get when you put two muses together? Amusing poetry. And that it is. Very well concieved. We appreciate all the nights you stayed up to write this, all the suppers eaten in front of the screen, and all the explainations to family members. But it was worth it.
Job well done

Standing ovation,

Jan I knew the day would come when you would be my exclusively my writing partner, and I know I had making poetry myself with other poets but it was clean fun...no seriously a great team effort and I think we can all second the thoughts in this poem. I am a poetry junkie and proud to be one. Thank you
Mark and Jan for such a wonderful fix.

Toddles-I(WE) believe that most of us here suffer from this to some extent or another.  It seems that there is never enough time to
get to all the poems that we wish to.  It can consume us and in some respects does.  Keep your feet on the ground and thanks for stopping by and reading.  We will be visiting you soon.

Prometheus--nothing here to worry about except the real reality of fantasy realities that take over the reality of what is real.
Thanks for taking the time.

Brian-I was a gentleman I promise.  No fun did we have at all... not once(WINK...)Thanks for the reply and more than happy to oblige to one and all.
