Upon my pillow fast asleep, Drifting in and out of dreams. Disconnected thoughts go through So many different scenes. A childhood memory I can see As I walk into the room. I feel the warmth of its grasp, But it vanished all too soon. Floating in the shadows I see you standing there. But when I reach to hold you, You fade into the air. Then visions of my loved ones Who are gathered all around, To share in love and laughter Is a satisfying sound. And off into the distance A stranger I do see. Is it someone I will meet? Will he be a friend to me? No rhyme or reason for these scenes. Throughout the night they just come and go. Is there a meaning to all of this? I sure would like to know. |
