Great Expectations

(With earnest apologies to Charles Dickens)

Cursed cursor
flashing,
harassing,
laughing
at my lack
of knack.
I lean back
into queen anne cool,
annoyed,
the fool,
wishing only
to be spoon fed
lemon cream
custard
in a warm
feather
bed.

devine. Simply devine.

Just an effigy to be disgraced,
to be defaced.
Your need for me has been replaced.

Chris, a smile is a GOOD thing! Thanks for reading, my friend.

Marge, thank you. Blame it on poetic (and other) frustrations!

Effigy, there was far too much in my head to hold any of it still enough to write it down last night, so this is what happened.   Thanks for your sweet response, my friend.

Sudhir, so glad this gave you something to enjoy. Thank you!

Liz, thank you for the validation ~ you know, sometimes we just want the demands of the world to leave us be.
