He was only passing through,
but I thought maybe he would stay.
Though I knew how it may end
I still gave my heart away.

Wrapped in each others arms,
we spent many a summer night.
I still recall just how he looked
in the glow of candle light.

Bubble baths and champagne,
on I went in ignorant bliss.
Knowing not when it would end
I cherished every single kiss.

This restless soul I did love
and for awhile he was mine.
But something in his wandering eyes
told me I was running out of time.

The cold Fall winds began to blow
and I knew soon he would be gone.
Then one night he packed and left
and this traveling stranger traveled on.

No matter where his road may lead
he'll not find someone like me.
If he wants love like that again,
he'll come back to Tennessee.

Tennesse Angel,

This was so lovely!!  **SIGH**  It reminds me of the Garth Brooks song, "This Ain't Tennessee".  Love that one!!  Great writing.  So beautiful . . . we know it won't last, but we try anyway.

Really a nice one! I especially liked...

Keep up the good work!
