You know I just realized today...
There is something that I need to say...
I just locked it inside every day...
and I really have tried things your way...
But I can't deny what is true...
and the fact is that I don't love you...
We have memories of things we once knew...
and I really feel sad that it's through......

But I think that the time...has it come?
To tell you I'm going away...
I know you won't notice...no, you won't look at me..
And you don't hear a word that I say...
You'd rather just watch your tv...
Then spend your sweet time here with me...
You don't seem to know who I am...
            So,
Baby, I took your ring off my hand...

I know that the time has now come...
To take myself right out the door...
And when I look at you, I know that it's true...
That I just can't love you, anymore...
You have made it so perfectly clear...
That you don't even know that I'm here...
So I'm making my one-time last stand...
Baby, I took your ring off my hand...

This hand is now ringless, and it's so plain to see
There's a mark on my finger, where your ring used
           to be...
Each time that I look there, my heart breaks inside,
   Because I wouldn't be ringless,
       If you only..
                    had..
                         tried...

Heartfelt sorrow for you girl.  It is never easy to walk away when you have given so much of yourself and have nothing to show in the end.  Beautiful writing.

You have perfectly described a situation I went thru not so long ago...When I removed my ring the mark was so prominant...when I would meet women they would say to me it was obvious that I had just removed my ring for the evening...I said no really its been off for a long time...about nine months have passed and I still believe I can see that ring mark...I thought when it is gone that is the day a new love will begin..the time has arrived or is very close...James

James...
It does take a while for that mark to
go away, but the best part is when you
meet the right one, and put on a new
ring!!  (One that will stay there!)
Thank you for reading, and I wish you
                  only the best!

A_L...Thank you for liking this, and I
remember someone telling me once that
one door has to close before you can
      open another...

Rex...You're a good-hearted friend, and I
thank you for reading and caring!!

Wow, what a strong powerful subject, one usualy avoided, i am glad you expressed it though as it is becoming more and more common and a lot of people can relate to it - even if they havn't been married, the message is still the same . I loved it .
