Bruised

I can see the disappointment
Flashing in your eyes
I can read them clear as a book
Not pretty enough
Not thin enough
Not smart enough
Nothing I that I can do
Will ever measure up
To your impossible expectations
Your words slam into me
Leaving a permanent bruise
On my tattered and worn soul
Will I ever be what you want?
Can I be what you want?
A salty tear slips from my eye
As I vow to be better
Vow to be more successful
More beautiful
Sacrificing my spirit
To be the perfect doll you want.

Rosepetals~
My friend, this is wonderful.  But I must tell you this -- I learned a long time ago that you can't try to make yourself be what someone else wants.  I know this sounds hard, especially if you really love smeone who wants to "change" you, but you have to love yourself for what you are, and let them know that if they don't love you for who you are, too, that you can find someone who will.  It is not worth wasting one minute of your life unhappy with yourself just because you aren't someone else's vision of perfection.  My dear friend at the forum here, JanetMarie, has a personal signature that I have begun using as a type of personal motto :

You can either take me as I am, or watch me as I walk away.

Besides, all of your friends here at Passion's Place love you for who you are -- and you impress us already, my dear!

Love Ya~

Terry,
Thank you for your kind words.  I am currently trying to put distance between myself and this person, but it is difficult.  The person is a relative of mine.  I have tolorated this person's judgement of me to long. I am however moving past it. Thank you again.

Do not hide the beauty you possess.  You can not love if you are hidden away.  The one that cannot see this is the loser here and you shall shine someday as only you can. Tugged at me all the way through.  Well done.

Oh Tara    this brought a tear to my eye, never sacrifice your very essence to please a man or hold him.  And yes, I'm a hypocrite because I find myself doing this all the time.  Let's you and I vow to see our beauty within okay!

Take care,
Melissa~

(big hugggssssss) Oh Tara, this is so so sad, always follow your loving heart, never be taken in by a ploy and be what love expects you to be, but let your heart find the love that makes you happy! (smiles) May Dave give you true happiness and sweet love forever! (kiss on cheek) We all love you so much, sweet friend, this is fabulous! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Tara, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton
