                 EYES WIDE SHUT

     I'm in my room
          it's 4 a.m.
     You're not here
          so I can't win
     Wanna close my eyes
          and pretend
     But what if I can't
          open them again?

Maybe I wouldn't be so sad
          if I cared enough
          to get mad
At all the things that I can change
          instead of all the things
          I can't even rearrange...

     I guess I need someone
          to ***** me out
     To keep me alive and
          wear me down
Someone who can look at me
          and see all the things
          that only you can see...

             (chorus)

                 If you turn me on
                 I will tune me out
                 If you make me real
                 I will make you proud
                 Re-define my reality
                 And mold me back to
                 Who we used to be...

     I'm in my room
          it's 6 a.m.
     The sun comes up
          it starts again
     Am I too blind
          to even see
     The fire that burns
          inside of me
     When you are here
          and we are we
And everything is how it's meant to be...

     I have found some sanctity
I close my eyes and you're here with me
     Your smiling face my victory
     I'll stay like this eternally
     With eyes wide shut
     I'm so locked in
And I don't think I can open them again...

I like this poem... a strong show of emotion.  I like the fourth verse the best. Well done and welcome to Passions.
