Shield of Flowers

Rising each morning
to the light leaking
through the slatted shades,
I watch the flecks of energy
dance before my eyes
and wonder...

If I sent you an anonymous message
would you know it was from me?
Would it's perfumed scent
give me away?
Would the tear stained smudges of caring,
blend my thoughts
until they become yours?
Would the reflection of my love
display itself to you,
behind my shield of flowers?

If I release to you
my fading thoughts, untouched,
could you see they were meant for you...
each word a flower, a gift to you
until I am shielded no more?

The power encased shall overcome all obstacles given over to passion.

Beautiful write...keep em coming

beautiful images, really enjoyed this one.

why must we pray
screaming? why must not death be redefined? we shut our eyes we stretch out our arms and whirl on a pane of glass-patti smith

That's more than one a day Maureen...you're quite the fountain of poetic composition.

Beyond that, this is beautiful in the greatest sense of the meaning of that word..

"if I release to you
my fading thoughts, untouched,
could you see they were mean't for you..
each word a flower, a gift to you
until I'm shielded no more?"

If that's not one of the finest examples of great poetry then I'll have to eat my computer screen....take care..ethome..

Maureen

actually I write around 3 a day (including poetic responses that I turn into completed poems)...unless I force myself to do other things and even then I am  jotting down ideas...
