Sweet Assailant

Ride on, dark knight, desiring
her spice, her velvet scent
Your love is nigh and urgent
ride on through battlement

Her hazel eyes a weapon
now brandished to the sky
Within attacking moment
of impassioned battle cry

Her love comes charging onward
no defense can you raise
against her thrusting, thrilling voice
Your head, your heart, ablaze

Impale your sweet assailant
as victory floods your mind
and the spoils of love are flavored
by passions, unconfined

Wow....how sweet is this?  What wonderful visions this ones spills.  Loved the imagery and the flow but the spell it cast is awesome indeed.

Squire fetch me my horse. . .
For there are battles to be fought
And hearts to be won
Victories to be sought
And songs to be sung. . .

Claire,
your words always seem to take me back to that time. . .when bards roamed the land, telling stories of love and life. . . of battles fought. . . *sigh*

This was no exception. . . just wonderful. . .

Mark, you are so generous with your kind commentary...thank you so much.

Sven, "writing" will often take me back to that time, as well, and the results ... well, you have read for yourself. The aire and intrigue of romance from times past is inspiring to me. I am glad to know that you enjoyed reading this piece. Thank you, my friend.

Brian, sometimes it seems as if the spell has been cast upon me, and I am simply allowing its images to surface. Isn't it interesting how some poems just seem to write themselves? Thank you for reading and offering your lovely response, Brian.

Liz, thank you. Your encouragement is dearly appreciated. So glad you liked this piece, my friend.

Claire~

What a treat -

Your comment struck me with great familiarity-

'Isn't it interesting how some poems just seem to write themselves?'

And my pleasure that this one you shared.

Delightful always to see where your muses
have taken you.
Hope you're having a wonderful day, my friend.

Claire,
Don't you just have a book or something I can buy?  This is a fine piece of work as are they all.
