  Once Touched

In a silence, so intense
Beneath the blackened moon,
She rests upon a wicker swing
With thoughts of meeting soon.

Once touched by kisses, yours
Of secret smiles, in mind,
A gentle breeze suspends her thoughts
They twist, they cross, they wind.

To cloak the nighttime air
In heavy, one tear falls.
Lands upon one cheek to cool
The blush of want, that calls.

Unmasking feel within,
Dark moments softly glow
Caressing her in shadowed kiss,
The stars begin their show

Of beauty, they now burn
And dance the night to share
The breathless wonder, passions' hold
Her hazel eyes, to stare.

The silence of these dreams,
Intrigued by thoughts of you,
Frees her from her prisoned world
And fades away her blue.

Her eyes they closed, she rocks
And enters other plane.
In darkness touched, your gentleness
Has shed her of her pain.

A shiver, air has cooled.
The winds increase their drive.
Footsteps heard, she opens eyes,
Her "midnight love" arrives

To gather up her thoughts
Her body, heart and soul,
Carries her into a sleep
With dreams in arms to hold.

This was beautiful!!  What soft and sweet images you paint.  I love the picture too.  Nice touch.  Graet writing!!

Maureen~
I am enjoying your thoughts.
LOVE the porch swing !

Reminds me of the porches of my youth,
where I would swing and make up songs to sing ...
didn't know it was poetry then.
