     “SHIPBOARD DREAMER”

I was cruising with the ship at sea,
Out on deck watching the sights.
The sun came up over the horizon,
It’s red, beautiful, and bright.

The waves of the sea are so gentle,
They rock the ship to and fro.
The sunrise is so very pretty,
Stunning, as the love we will get to know.

The sea is deep and has color,
It reminds me of your eyes that are so blue.
Everything that is all around me,
Reminds me, wholly of you.

An island I see in the distance,
Beckoning for romance.
Palm trees they are whispering,
About two lovers who desire a chance.

The chance they take is with each other,
For they both follow their hearts.
They still feel some emptiness inside them,
Since they are still apart.

I looked out from the highest deck,
Staring as the sun sets in the west.
A great huge ball of fire,
That makes my heart thump in my chest.

Evening approaches and out comes the stars,
Twinkling up there in the sky.
We found yours right over there my love,
Isn’t that the one I almost passed by?

But fate has not cast us yet aside,
As your star became mine too.
It shines brightly in the heavens,
And it brought me together with you.

Bill Charles

Sunny,
As always, thanks for your kind words. I wrote this on 6/1/00 and looked at it again tonight. Changed a few words and decided to post. Do you remember what they say about coincidence? Hmmmmmmmmm!!!!!!!!

Bill~
A most enjoyable read.

'Evening approaches and out comes the stars,
Twinkling up there in the sky.
We found yours right over there my love,
Isn’t that the one I almost passed by?'

Keep your eyes on that star.

I love the title and the theme
And on top of that I'm a dreamer
This one was a hit with me!

Bill, the likenesses you've employed here are picturesque. Lovely comparisons.

Bill

Nicely written. You can almost feel yourself on the deck of the ship with you.  Hope you weren't alone on that deck.

ddgoose,
Thanks so much for coming by again. And thank you for your kind comments. And No, I was not alone on that deck, a pretty lady there, I might add.
