"HEARTBREAK"

I lay here in this cold lonely bed,
In the still of the mornings dim light.
My thoughts are only of you my love,
In the darkness, beating back all my fright.

I can see your sensuous smile,
As you once lay beside me.
Feeling the warmth of your softness,
But alas, now no one is there I can see.

I rise and walk towards the open window of my room,
And then stare into the dimness of the light.
Bowing my head in torment,
Near the ending of this dreary night.

I look into the gentle early morning rain,
Falling down from the quiet sky that's hushed,
Knowing that I will never see you again,
And deep within me I feel crushed.

Visions I have of you in my mind,
Slowly fade from my memory.
I still listen for a sign from you,
But all I can hear is my own misery.

I can only hear the stillness,
My anguish fills me through and through.
Forlorn beseeching me deep inside,
And my sadness reminding me of you.

I see through the misty green forest,
Feeling as if I'm in a trance.
Where is your loving embrace my dear,
Feeling your warmth when we danced?

I try to touch your tenderness,
But my body feels only naught.
My fingers run through your silky hair,
Emptiness is what they are now taught.

I feel the gaze of your gentle eyes,
But now blind I am, and can't see.
The memory of your soft tender lips,
No taste is there any longer for me.

Your breasts I feel upon my chest,
But their softness is no longer there.
I feel your tenderness as we make love,
So why do I feel so hollow and bare?

Another night now passes without you,
What happened, why did you ever leave?
And I know the coldness of this lonely bed,
And I think, only of thee.

Great poem, you describe your feelings well...

You can never have too much fiction; reality can be such a bore

Bill- This I believe is the first of yours that I have read and I can assure you that I will make it a point to look for more.  Please accept a somewhat late but sincere welcome to Passions.  This is an excellent piece and I bow to your talent and vision.

A torturous poem, Bill, the grief is palatable.

Corinne,
Thank you for reading and replying to my writing. Yes, it is torturous, even to me, as I had a somewhat difficult time writing it.
