Little Girl You have to know, Little Girl. that I have always been there There was never a moment in your lifetime I haven't heard your prayers I held your hands when you needed a friend Little Girl, I was the only one that gave you strength... You never knew that I could see you cry But, Little Girl, I am the one who dried your eyes I placed my angels around you when you feel down And, I, Little Girl, gave you solid ground... I give all little children a new path to take And, when they grow I show them the choices to make And, I take all those memories that a little child holds And, give memories of peace to replace the old... As you carried the burdens of such a lonely heart Little Girl, don't you know we were never apart I passed on to a place where life leaves me so free So, that you, Little Girl, would believe in me... I always knew of the sadness and all your pain But, I promised you a life of sunshine and a welcome change And, when your heart was weighed with the heaviest loads I took away your memories so that little girl could grow... I gave you loss of feeling behind closed doors So, that life would give you something to finally live for I was beside you when a mans world became your unfair game But, Little Girl, I was the only man who stopped the rain... I gave you the colors of a rainbow to brighten your day And, I gave you morning birds to sing your tears away And, I have heard you ask for the stars at night So, I gave you that beautiful view of the sky and lights... I see you're grown now and below the clouds I made And, I see you staring at them from so far away Little Girl, Take my words and find me up here Find my face in the night and forget those years... I am with you now and I was with you then I'll take that little scared girl and make her strong again For all I have loved my heart is your home Little Girl. just remember you never sleep alone...
