Heart's Reopening

On moonbeam wings
I search the heavens
for the want of your light
your words that steal for me
your heart...
to open up once again,
to share in the warmth
of another's arms,
the charm of another's words,
the taste of another's kiss.

There is no room for failure
in one's heart,
nor anguish
of misunderstanding,
no need for quiltings
in the cool of the night,
when hearts are pressed together
comforting,
each breath misting the air
bringing a rise in temperature.

No wall is too strong
to penetrate.
Even a heart of steel
can be pierced.
It's in the knowing,
in the skill of the one holding the tools
that can reach into the smallest of openings
to expand, widen, then attain,
pulling out...that which has been stored,
hidden, for safe keeping.

Those walls, built stone by stone,
brick by brick,
pain by pain,
hurt by hurt,
can only be held strong,
by the mortar of pride...
softened with winds of forgiveness,
and understandings,
all things are possible...

That last stanza was a killer!
So much truth in this poem; no wall too strong if the right person holds the tools.
Beautiful concept!

this is a deep, heart-felt piece mmoonchild ... i like how you've given pause at the right places ... flow ... nice read.

My calling before me, let quill be my offering;
For to be called poet, no greater gift to receive.

MA...thank you again for the read...I write as I speak..sometimes I wish I could write deeper, but I do think I get the feelings across, at least I hope so....being a "cancer" I tend to  run the gamut of moods..this was a day of them.
