Long After Tonight

I wish I could tell you what's here in my heart
I feel so much, my friend, while we are apart
And, sometimes I just find it so hard to breathe
Cause going through life without you, there's no me...

It's just I cannot fall asleep alone
I hear this silent sound when you're not home
And, sometimes I can't even find the strength to dream
God, tonight I realized this hold on me...

Long after tonight I'll remain alone no matter who tries to take your place
No matter who I go to each new night or any road that I might take
I don't have the heart just anyone can fill
So, long after tonight, I'll be loving you still...

It's not anything like being pulled down by the rain
It's this silence that shows me things aren't the same
And, sometimes it feels like I cannot go on
When I built my world around to what could be gone...

I know, not enough, could I say that you are all that I need
I know I have something, much better than words, when your hearts lying next to me
Cause you're greater than the moon and much greater than the stars
You're the never want to see the sunrise here inside my heart...

Long after tonight I'll remain alone cause no one can take your place
No matter who I hold onto each new night or that road that I may take
Now, I just don't have the heart that anyone but you could fill
So, long after tonight, I'll be loving you still...

Maybe its time you put the past behind you and let someone else take their place though... Or else, let someone else in... (I didnt mean delete all memories of the person) just let someone else in.

Time flies? Say it not so, time stays we go.

I know all too well this venue.  It is hard to concentrate on anything or anyone else when a deep love is set aside.  You can't even imagine someone being able to take their place.  Hold on and the ride will get easier and I have found that the more you write the better it makes things.  Release you know.

Saunni,
What a wonderful poem about the hold someone has on our hearts. When this kind of love is buried so deep in a heart it never seems to leave. This poem that you wrote is very, very nice, and very well written.
