   Six More Miles

Here we are with yet one more too hard good-bye
Another day I hold onto you desperately by my side
Every breath that I am breathing seems harder every time
And, to myself I pray for strength some that I can call mine...

Just six more miles ahead and then God how the storms come in
How sorry we have to let each other go over and over again
And, not even a tear for you to see I somehow let you go
All I am, all I love, It's you and all you need to know...

In my mind I picture us and everything I love about you
How quickly memories become the hopeless way to ever make it through
Now, on my way back and beneath the moon overhead
I asked once again if he's heard every word I've said...

Cause it's six more miles, God, I don't want to be alone
I can't go back to what I can't call home
And, so I'll drive this day to an unknown place
And, let the highway give light now to the tears on my face...

You can never hear the lonely I hear every day
Cause I lost all meaning when you went away
Six more miles takes my heart and all I ever believed
I carry the sadness on this rainy highway with just the radio and me...

Just let me find her now here in the night at last
Let me hold her, God, Don't take her back
The six miles doesn't end just where the sign is gone
Cause, Baby, the rain and this highway it still lives on...

Hey nice poem, it seems like GOD took my dad early he was only 56 he died of colon cancer. Sometimes I dream of him, the doctors didn't know if I could live the 1st night. My dad said "yes she can" the day be4 he died he cried and looked at me and said "yes she can". Here's a quote
"Live your life the fullest, and then when you die you'll have people crying around you because they still care about you". I'm only 17 but I know my "stuff" Keep smiling your baby is watching over you

Saun.....

I cry with you, as I do with
       Fairy Princess. The pain of
losing those dear to us, is
a lasting one, but hurts less
when we share it. I have a son
who has been missing for 15 years.

       Thank you for writing this..
             I know it wasn't easy...
