She awakens her dreams to produce a new day. Her
dreams left behind under a pillow of clay.

She walks through the present, through freshly cut
thorns; walks to a stream to release bleeding
  footprints of scorn.

She sits by its waters. The suns reflection her
  eyes have caught.

She forms a cup with slender hands to consume the
suns beauty, but tastes only bitterness..
  the stream contains salt.

She meanders, now, through a forest where upon her
  slender form shadows are cast.

She walks onward though, for except her tiny
  footprints, there lies no past.

The sun is journeying downward, preparing for
its next tomorrow. She'd rather see it stay, but
  it leaves her without sorrow.

Lying in her sunless surroundings, she remembers
  her passing day.

She dreams of bleeding thorns and salty sun rays,
while her head rests peacefully upon her
  pillow of clay.

gem,

May tomorrows' suns
bring to you rays of hope
and may your pillow of clay
soften from the warmth
of your thoughts
and give you peaceful rest
'til the next morning dawns.

*enjoyed your words,
~~soft smiles
Maureen
