DID YOU KISS ME TODAY?

A day's passing quickens before sunset;
Night's impatience forcing light's hand.
The moment be so swift for our lips to meet;
Like twilight's victory, your kiss be so sweet.

Quill's ink thickens before running empty;
Passion's play hastening author's script.
The moment be so swift to come face to face;
So my day becomes without your soft embrace.

Calm's voice silenced before storm's rage;
Nature's instinct sensing the coming change.
The moment be so swift for our hearts to clamor;
One glance from your eyes, I melt, enamoured.

Anticipating the same inquiry at every night's end;
My answer to never change, or suffer my own demise.
The moment be so swift for me to amend my errant way;
To answer your quest, "Did you kiss me today?"

M.A. Miller

My calling before me, let quill be my offering;
For to be called poet, no greater gift to receive.

M.A.M.

I'm not sure why, but it brought a tear to my eye.  I loved every word.

Okay okay...not stalking, just enjoying, but my word, Mr. Miller, this is tantalizing...(I'm having much fun today...) and by the way...smooches to you...and smiles.  Great stuff.

(and all the more lovely with your explanation...)

my oh my this is enchanting...
this is alluring and graceful..
love the mix of a poet writing and the emotions taking place...
very well written and conceived poem here...
the anticpation and longing are perfectly expressed.
very nice read Mark,

that have never been touched.
There are places inside our hearts -
that need to be loved this much.
