No lover's arms are these I now embrace
cold comfort courses through this leaden shell
A ghost of former self now rules in place
of one who's surely died and gone to hell
Damn these un-seeing eyes that watched you leave
this tongue that pleaded not with you to stay
this heart that selfishly would not believe
All drown in bitter fire now on this day
For I will seek no council for my plight
save that which demon spirits offer me
with whom I will consort into the night
inventing heinous wrongs been done to me
Curse this my wretched pride that wouldn't allow
the words I cannot speak , not even now .

To slake this acid thirst I set again
a score of fallen soldiers splayed about
Not one of them that I may claim as friend
in truth they mock my words , have ye no doubt
I see you in the circle of your friends
'twas they who surely poisoned you on me
before I had a chance to make amends
those liars did conspire to set you free
A curse on them and all their wretched kin
they've meddled for the last I swear to you
and I no longer need  excuses thin
for now anothers touch will see me through
The soldiers scattered mute before the king
attest , do not refute the words they bring

Powerful writing Dr.  I think we use denial
sometimes to pad our heart from pain until
we are ready to look inside and deal with
the truth...atleast I know I have! Great
work~

Wow! I am at a loss for words! These are perfection, Dr. Moose, absolute perfection! You make sonnet writing look easy! And I know it's not! Whew!

Doc.......

I feel the power coming through on
this one!!! It's forceful, and a touch of
bitterness, but that's all real stuff.
Everything can't be roses all the time!

           This is a powerful,
              extremely well-done work!!

These are just way too good to get buried so quickly! So up you go!
