Love Shines Like a Precious Diamond

A precious stone
that will endure
one thousand years
and still be pure.

A fine gold band
holds on tight
to that diamond
with all its might.

Diamond ring
you shine so bright
as I watch you
bathing in the light.

Your sparkling brilliance
caught my eye
like twinkling stars
suspended in the evening sky.

And this ring
I hold in my hand
will someday caress
my sweethearts hand.

Surely our love
will endure
one thousand years
and still be pure.

Brilliantly shining
with beauty and might
just like a precious diamond
bathing in Love's bright light.

I loved this piece....

A fine gold band
holds on tight
to that diamond
with all its might

This was a unique and lovely way of describing a diamond ring!!
Nice!!

Jimmy is excellent and it's perhaps the most beautiful piece I've seen you done. I'm also glad to see you exploring into the world of  stanzas and rhythmic motions. Great job and I'm looking forward to more!

James--I think she would like your poetry as much as the diamond...I know I like poetry better.  Great poem!

Martie poetry is indeed very beautiful but it is hard to ignore the beauty of a woman and the beauty of a diamond...thank you for your nice comments...James

a lovely poem beautifully expressed.

why must we pray
screaming? why must not death be redefined? we shut our eyes we stretch out our arms and whirl on a pane of glass-patti smith

James, you have the ring...is there a date? And by poetry will you relate?

My best wishes, God speed!

And, oh yes, I could see your smile in every word...

Sunshine there is no date
only an opportunity to wait
that diamond is still shining bright
I'm still lonely at night...

I'm in a good mood right now...I can see the light on the horizon..James
