                  Just listen......

As you lie beside me, breathing softly,
Through two lips that echo a smile from
the closeness of our few moments ago..

                  Just listen..

As the gentle night plays peek-a-boo
with the dawning of the day, and the
early bird rises to catch his worm..

                  Just listen..

Before the cars start up and speed away,
Before the doors slam shut with the
leaving of bodies off to make their mark
          in this peaceful, quiet world..

                  Just listen..

As I sit at the table, gazing out upon
the yard you so carefully planted to
delight my eyes on a morn such as this..

                  Just listen..

Be still, and hear your heartbeat
hear the beating that is yours alone
The beat of life lies within, and without
We can hear the silent roar of the
                   Universe..

All we have to do is

                  Just listen..

Hi Sunny,

Wow, your words are music to my ears, you have thoughts like I do, I listen all of the time to the world and those around me, I feel that you miss so much if you don't stop and listen, and this should be shared with all the world, may be the world would slow down alittle don't you think. Awesome poem

Love, Cerenity

Cerenity.......

           Hi.......always glad to meet
another 'observer'. My Dad used to say,
"How do you expect to learn anything if
    you don't listen???"

           Glad you liked this, too....
By the way, I'm a fan of yours!

Sunny1~
A most enjoyable read.
I spend a lot of time 'listening'
and find that people have so much to offer.

'As the gentle night plays peek-a-boo
with the dawning of the day'

I enjoyed this line.

The more that you listen, the more that you
                hear....
Then the meaning of life is abundantly
                clear....
You'll find inspirations in everyday
                places....
They'll wind up in Passions....
           and fill up the spaces!!

      Keep Listening, keep writing.......
            so I can keep reading!!!!!!

    Marsha, Trew, and ethome.....
            thank you all so much!!!

Live for today and enjoy the moment.....

Sunny1,
You captured what is amiss with two lovers. One listens and the other doesn't know how, and then they are gone. As always, what insight comes from inside you.
