Rest your head little one and close your eyes
Sleep through the night 'till sunrise.
Let thy brow be smooth and serene
Rest now little baby and dream.

Rest your head little one and close your eyes
Sleep through the night 'till sunrise
A day of play and fun has gone by
The tired baby stirs in his sleep and sighs.

The twinkling eyes for the moment are closed
So angelic and sweet is your look in repose
Tomorrow you'll wake and begin a new day
A cherub again - playful and bright as a sun's ray.

But for now it is dark and baby must sleep
Upon the pillow he will find the rest he seeks
So gently now little one and rest your head
Cry no more and close your eyes
Sleep through the night 'till sunrise.
