~HEART'S PLEA~

Lost and found,
is how I would describe my heart
on that fateful day
when you came into my life,
when you loved me
and wanted me, and desired all of me,
you breathed me in
and embraced my heart with yours,
tenderly, you flew with me to the very ends of time
and carried me along the path of happiness,
but, now, I walk that path with you, but...alone,
for, our hearts have grown distant, not fonder,
time has changed our love
and now laughs at the thought of eternal bliss,
memories so bittersweet fall with my tears,
so please be honest with me,
if I am not the one that you've waited a lifetime for,
let my heart hear those words,
and although it may shatter, painfully slow,
at least it will know the truth,
I deserve that much
after all that we have shared,
so, I ask of you
break not the heart that loves you
give it strength
to live for tomorrow,
to live for you,
to beat for our love,
forevermore,
but, if you must break it,
do it gently with your arms open,
to cradle the pieces,
a heart so fragile
needs a soft place to fall

Oh Melissa, What a tender, beautifully written poem.  So sad, yet just lovely.  Bonnie

Melissa,

What a beautiful poem you have written.  The plea of your heart comes through loud and clear.  I hope your wish comes true.

that have never been touched.
There are places inside our hearts -
that need to be loved this much.

Melissa,
       this is wonderful. . . and sad. . .

I pray my friend that you get only that which you ask for. . .

Excellent. . .

This poem really reminds me of when I'm talking to Lena...when I tell her I love her I want her to tell me she loves me too...and even if she doesn't I want her to lie...because I will be shattered if the feelings are not mutual...I am not prepared right now for her to tell me she doesn't love me...perhaps somewhere down the road I will bear it...James
