I came across all of my old note books today.  Funny how the mind thinks and acts as it gets older.  I wrote this when I was 15.  In case your wondering that was 19 years ago.

I hear a knock on my door
Turn around quick I hear it no more
Sometimes I feel such the fool
Then I look and notice it's you
Hello the darkness comes in
The heart of hearts begins to fail again
Where to turn, where to run
God please save this helpless child

Those days do you remember them well
The songs of hope the songs of sorrow
The revolution that grew in our hearts
My friend, the revolution fell apart
You drank and drank till you fell down
They stood you up and you drank some more
And when the last song was sung
We said "God be with Ireland" then out we went

We were the ones to dedicate ourselves
Beyound riches
Or fortunes
As long as there was something to trust
Helpless and falling down
To oblivion once again.

well this is quite a poem for 15..
you already show a lot of depth..
was interesting to see references to some
things that you write about now...
already forming your style then.
We had a challenge in here a ways back
where we posted our earliest works.
It was very cool to get to see each others
beginings.
thanks for sharing yours

There are places inside our souls -
that have never been touched.
There are places inside our hearts -
that need to be loved this much.

i like this a lot. a very unique style indeed. i especially like the last line "to oblivion again." i just took that little vacation last Sunday. =)

then the music plays all night."

If you were this deep at 15, WOW... No wonder your poetry is so "deep" now )...
I like it..

Time flies? Say it not so, time stays we go.
