Remember me

The taste of your tongue as it crosses your lips
The texture I feel while holding your hips
The wonder of what the future will bring
The songs my heart no longer will sing

The sound of your voice as I wake up each day
The use of the words that I love you to say
The fear that I have of the change soon to come
Am I loosing my way, my life on the run?

The look in your eyes as you ask me for help
That innermost beauty you carry yourself
No longer controlled by my charm, wit or style
No way to get to you with my boyish smile.

You know all my faults
I’ve revealed my small lies
I sit here in wake
Believe me I’ve tried

To show you the light
That I’ve always seen
The love that I give
Is the love that you need

Support and respect
Secured in my heart
You know where I am
Remember to start
To love me again.

The passion you ignited from start of verse
The love in heart you've expressed so well
Very sweet poem 'Spiked'

I honestly think that you have talent.  The words, I could feel, were from the heart.  If only some of us could be so lucky as to receive a poem or hear those words from the men we are with.
Thank you!

Great expressions Spiked. You have captured the intimate familiarity that so many come to know and love. I hope the last line works out for the character in the poem. Great read!
