Listening to every heart

Muse, Music and Colors

In the wee early hours between two and three,
my Muse came a’tiptoeing into my dream.
She brought with her Music and Colors by name
and began to play an unusual game.

“Good morrow” spoke Muse, uncapping her wand,
“I’m here to share things from the great beyond.”
In detail then appeared in my dream’s misty haze
a scene from which I couldn’t unlock my gaze.

Without further word Muse beckoned, and the dancing began,
Red and Orange erupted into a wild and colorful can-can,
Yellow then swirled and spun in to Music’s delight,
joined Amber and became a most beautiful sight.

Lavender began a-twirling, and lacy Cream gave a glance
as Black and White swayed together, locked in a lover’s dance.
Pink strolled the ballroom floor, looking lovely and fine,
Gray came promptly along and paired up with Wine.

Soon Purple and Gold waltzed to a slow Ballad’s tune,
Greens and Blues twirled to a lovely, mystical rune,
then slowly Music became soulful, softly fading away
all of the colors coming together in one massive sway.

Luminescence filled the ballroom’s parquet floor
Iridescent colors all pleading “Please, one dance more!”
Twilight’s shadow now looking for Morning’s first ray
all colors coming to a slow halt before the calm new day.

The couplets became quadruplets, Music fades to quiet,
as they all began to stroll back into the late night,
Music still lingered sweetly on in my dream
As Sun stood waiting for Moon’s last silvery beam.

This story it seems, shall never really end
for someone’s Muse shall pick up that other Muse’s pen
and will then take Music and Colors by name
and begin this wonderful Dance all over again.
