WAITING Standing here in a corner, Watching people hurrying by, Trying hard not to stare. Walking up and down a little, As if i'm busy like everyone else, As if i'm really calm and collected, And wouldn't ever scream aloud. I lean against a marble wall, It's coolness seeping through my back, Watch a child slurping candy, And plan how you'll say you're sorry, How i'll turn and walk away, So you'll come running after me, You'll plead with sad distraught eyes, Then when i grudgingly relent.... But it's too late to do that now, You're standing there with that arrogant smile, And my feet that won't listen to me, Are already moving fast towards you! |
