      Somewhere in the dark of night..
      a baby cries while his parents fight..
      Somewhere there's an old man..
              Forgotten and Alone..
      A teen-age girl who ran away--now she's lost,
               no place to stay..
      and there's a poor old woman, who dreams
              of goin' home..
      Sleeping on the cold, wet ground is a
             boy whose father beat him down..
      and further down the alley, a woman
                  cries alone....
      Seems like there should be a place..
      For every lost and lonely face..
      Somewhere they can run to..
             and feel like they belong.......
      A helping hand--A friendly smile..
      it can make a life seem more worthwhile..
      It's all right there inside you,,
          Love shouldn't stop at home........

      You who have warm words to give..
      The more you share, the more you'll live..
      It's always been the answer..
          Love shouldn't stop at home.....

   (Dedicated to all the writers------
           within you lies the power of words..
                    The power to heal......)

Life is but a dream...

Sunny1,
All of your writings tell a story, some of broken hearts, some of sadness, and some of hope. You certainly have a way with words, it is a gift that you have. Keep writing.

To Bill....
         thankyou for your kindness...
     I think we all write out of experience
     and it's not always pleasant. I guess
     I'm lucky in that I have a wealth of
     memories to draw from....
             By the way, your style is
                  captivating.

To Septsong......
         thankyou also very much.
     Yes, all we have to do is open our eyes
     to what is going on all around us...I
     have been homeless, and I can tell you
     what a warm smile can mean....

        ~~~~Thank you both so much~~~~
That was another beautiful poem of yours. Sure makes you think about the small problems you face in a day seem so unimportant when you are reminded off all the big problems in the world....thanks for sharing.
~So very truthfull...Sad but true that love does stop at home...I think if we all gave a little of ourselves we would realize that there are people out there living worse..with no love...no shelter..nothing...I am eternally gratefull that I am sheltered and perhaps loved...
You wrote this strongly. I loved it...Thanks for sharing~
Blessed be,
Beth
... So sleep easy - Would that be a good end to your signature . I think it would, I love this poem, it is one of the best I have ever read and that takes some doing when your in here, be proud, I feel exactly the same and suggest we open this forum up as a commune for the less fortunate than ourselves ...
Sunny1 can cook the food .
Balladeer and Michael can serve it up .
The rest of us can be Kitchin assistants, councilers and singers of lulabyes to help them to sleep, shame the ideas impossible as it would be very nice .
Well done .
Sorry, I forgot to mention, Nan could look after all the little babies and children - Is she still around as I have not seen any poems or replies from her for a long time ?
Your words wake me and remind me of things we should all do and then forget. Thank you for the jolt. This is excellent writing
