There was a girl
there was a boy
to each other they gave
laughter, love and joy

The closer they got
the more they shared
as time went on
the more they cared

One night he said
"I can't love you anymore"
"I don't want to love you anymore"
and so he closed the door

Time went on
anger, sadness and dispair
a strangled friendship
dismantled parts - everywhere

That depth of understanding
now locked behind closed thoughts
two loving hearts
released as they were caught

However much the sadness
the pain at being left
I do believe the memories
are better for being kept...

love the ending on this...the middle is that sad stuff that none of us like to go through, but when you get to where you are at the end, it means you are getting better
