Match to wick,
spark to flame.
Light by which to write ...
words by which to give this ache a name.

Pen on paper,
tears on cheek.
A prayer for clarity,
relief from this pain is what I seek.

The words wont come,
must I beg for every line.
This need so deep ...
mere verse wont define.

Without the rhyme ...
I cease to exists.
My muse again gone,
her grace I need to enlist.

Loss of poetic light,
loss if inspiration.
Loss of muse,
loss of fascination.

If I cant write,
I cant breathe.
Say a prayer for vision ...
grant me poetic reprieve.

Ohhh, I can relate. I think our muses must be sisters or something, 'cause mine's the same way.

Sounds to me that your muse is still around just having a mood swing as you said.  We can still enjoy your wit with ones like these and heres hoping that it cooperates with you the way you seek.  Enjoyed this even if it is filled with frustration.

Hey Janet,
Your muse seems to be dating my muse, and they are having a jolly good time... I say, let them have their time together... then they will be happy muses and come back with a smile of satisfaction... what says you?

I seem to managing ok with my temp, if you wish I could send him over to ya...

Well, with or without your errant muse, this one is quite effective... patience, my friend and things will be back to top gear soon...

regards, sudhir

Hickory dickory dock
two muse ran up the clock
the clock struck one
so you used the other one to write quite a nice poem about how you can't write.

Peculiar how that goes is'nt it?

"match to wick
spark to flame.
light by which to write
words by which to give this ache a name."

So lovely and poetic this description of writers block......

I used to have a muse,
But I think now she's dead.
The only rhyme I can think of
Starts with "Roses are red!"

Hey there JM... Your muse never left, she's just hiding under the bed!

i read the title and i couldn't help but smile. i see she's still on vacation, but judging by this poem, it's good to see she dropped you a postcard. =)
take heart kiddo. perhaps this quote will help.

Janet Marie

When the muses take hiatus
because they really hate us
I fool 'em all and simply sit
by reading here in Passionate

I do not whine [oh, perhaps I have]
I do not cry [oh wound be salved]
I do not whimper [it's my dog]
What you think I lie? [my mind is bogged...]

So while you wait and sit and ponder
take a travel to here and yonder
read and read and read some more,
before long the Muses are at your door.

This is sweet Janet - I see your muse
is letting you write, but alas, not what
you want to write about.

It will come -- it always comes back.
Muses need a rest, too.

Janet, my friend...I have that same ache to say something that I can't say...it is very painful...sheesh.  I'm glad you are writing, anyway, in spite of the muse...when the time is right it will happen...patience is a practiced art.

JM, am I right in feeling you've had an emotional change lately? Seems to me like you feel the urge to explode into poetry, but no words seems to satisfy your heart so far! Frankly, I absolutley love your poem, and can feel your frustration as though it was mine.

Oh Jan big hug, I will find you your muse. I have even hired Uri Geller the spoon guy to help find your muse and we have got together with Steven Hawkins and the A-team who still haven't been payed form rescuing PDV from the teen forum. The bill is on the way PDV, no I.O.U's. SO hang in there...

Want help searching for that muse??  Bet we can round her up between us all!!  LOL.  I know how you feel.  It is an awful feeling when the words won't come.  Hope she comes around soon my firend.
