  Your letter came to me...
I opened it up right away...
Your letter was 2 pages long, so I figured
you must have had something to say...
But when I sat down, started reading your
                 opening lines...
You suggested that I keep on going,
and then everything would be just fine...

I took your suggestion..no way I could make
              myself quit...
Halfway through your letter, I decided that I'd
                 better sit...
and when I was finished, the tears just rolled
             out of my eyes...
No fool like an old fool, and this old fool
           started to cry.........

Somehow, we'd connected as penpals at first,
               back and forth...
and after a year we discovered we both needed
                  more........
The distance between us was literally thousands
                 of miles...
But over that distance came pictures,
             sweet verses, and smiles...

And we never talked about what we had
             going at home...
We freely confessed to each other that we
             weren't alone...
  A harmless flirtation, consenting adults,
             making friends...
It won't hurt a soul, and we'll just play a
             game of pretend...

So, why did it come as a shock when you
             talked of your wife?
I guess I'd forgotten we both had our
               seperate lives...
And I have a husband I'll live with 'til
             death do us part...
No fool like an old fool......
and one with a self-broken heart!!!!!!!

Hold life with an open hand....leaving it room to grow....

Sad. The brick we see coming hurts no less that the one that blind sides us.

Wow.  This one hits home.  I am about to say something that I have raged against many times, but what how can I help myself - it feels as though you wrote this poem from my heart. So here are the lines I grudgingly say:

I know exactly how you feel.
I have been there and I feel for you.
I know what you are going through...

Yesterday is ash, tomorrow is smoke; only today does the fire burn.

Prometheus and JP..........

This one did hit me like a brick......
     (I forgot to duck!!)

It felt good to get it out, and it
hurts a little less with your kind
    words..............

           ~~~~Thanks to you both~~~~
