7-10 Split
~*Marge Tindal*~

Rock me
Roll me
just don't bowl me
down the alley tonight
Blue suede shoes
don't slide so good
when the pins aren't sitting right
Fear of throwing it in the gutter
causes me to surely shudder
The curve won't work
if the ball I jerk
I take careful aim
this is my game
Deep breath and let her fly
The motion I cannot stop
I hear the applause
as the pins do drop

The alley's rocking with delight
I hit the 7-10 split
with my eyes shut tight !

*Yep - in your dreams*

aahhhh my game as well.  You have to visualize before you do.  It helps sometimes.  Liked that has ever helped me on this split combo...... little too much hook or a board to many or oil spot misplaced.....and so on.  Some day maybe!!

cute read

Marge.....

Great read! I'm not too well-versed on
bowling, but I love the reference to rock 'n
roll, and blue-suede shoes.

        You've got a great touch......

I love bowling Marge but I can't count the number of times I'm up for a strike and my fingers get stuck and I slide down the alley still attached to it...ROFL

You mean there's something wrong with throwing it down the alley...I thought that's what it was there for...

Oh well, it's not the game...It's who you're playing with...right?   Enjoyed your poem!

Well, Marge, I used to bowl
But now it's love I choose.
The balls are not so heavy
And you don't haveta change your shoes!!

love it!

Marge what a fun poem, you made me chuckle. I don't play the game (a few times when I was younger) but I can relate to the shutting of the eyes and hoping for the best. Thanks Marge for making poetry so enjoyable, I always look forward to reading your work.
