Come, sit down here beside me, for the day has been so long
It taken has its dreary toll, for everything went wrong.
So just site down, and rest awhile, and close your weary eyes
And on my shoulder lay your head, until you wish to rise.

Come to me, dear, and settle down, for I can make you whole
And I will ease your troubled mind, and calm your restless soul.
And we will sit here, hand in hand, throughout the dark of night
Til morning breaks, and rising wun will shine its beams of light.

Come to me, for the day is done, and you must have some peace
I'll wrap my arms around you, your frustrations I'll release.
We'll stay that way, all throught the night, until the light of dawn
So when we rise to face the day, we'll have strength to go on.

This is post number 1998 for me...well, I had to do something instead of the usual 2000 or whatever.   Thanks to all of you for everything...the help, inspiration, and friendship you have given me...I love all you guys! Thanks so much!

Love, Elizabeth

This is such a beautiful poem! It's wonderful to have someone to go to when things get to be too much. A great choice for yor 1998th post!

Marge~after all, where would we be if we all did everything the same?

Kaile~Thank you! That's the effect I was trying to acheive.

Sven~thank you! 1998 was a red-letter year for me, so this was for that, and I do like to do things with a little 'twist'!

Hey Elizabeth, I loved this, so calming and soothing... Beautiful !

Yes, I am here, but I am dead, not alive,
my body goes on, my spirit has died
and I though alive, feel dead inside.
