I'd like to melt like ice cream
on a sultry August afternoon
transform my body
into a warm summer breeze
to whisper over the trees
and alight the azure heaven
to tangle with the clouds,
ruffle the feathers of a soaring eagle,
wrest flower petals from abundant branches
and leave a wake of velvet confetti
strewn across the pools and moss
of a deep, cool forest glade

"Our life, exempt from public haunt, finds tongues in trees, books in the running brooks, sermons in stones, and good in everything."
--William Shakespeare

Beautiful imagery.  It would be nice wouldn't it.  Great read and so glad I it was there to see.

How strange, Heather.  I thought you had already done all these things.  It must be my imagination... or the wonderful picture next to your poem.

Heather, your mastery of imagery just seems to keep getting better with every poem of this ilk that you write. To make someone see in their mind what you wish them to see by the use of words alone is a great achievement.
