Faster in the morning now
my mind is speeding red
cloaked in darkened sheathing
like the shroud around the dead.

Faster in the morning now
screaming silent with the pain
my mind a whirring vision
full hot with acid rain.

Faster in the morning now
I must unleash the rage!
Quick to find a pen, and then
bleed it to a page.

Calmer after writing
the painful throbbing dulled
the aching wash has ebbed
the vertigo has lulled.

I pull on my facade
erect my little smile.
It's just another morning,
another mountain mile.

Welcome to Passions Katrina!!
You captured my attention twice...once for
the name...my precious daughter shares it and
for this work of art.  You captured the
essence of poetry within your weave.  Very
well written, thank you for sharing it~

Welcome to Passions.  Wonderful poem to start with.

Calmer after writing
the painful throbbing dulled
the aching wash has ebbed
the vertigo has lulled

This is so true for us all.  Beautifully written.

WOW...I am so taken with this poem...
EXCEPTIONAL WRITING!!!!!
every inch of this is perfect..
the imagery..
the rhyme..
the cadence and flow..
the pace building...
the concept of the poem...
excellent...
the ONLY thing wrong with this poem IS--
that I didnt write it
well now that I have serious poet envy..
let me stop worshiping and welcome you to Passions!!!
take care

Welcome to Passions!

Yes, I am here, but I am dead, not alive,
my body goes on, my spirit has died
and I though alive, feel dead inside.
